Bucharest fashion week LOOK

Thanks to the classes I am taking, I had the chance to go to the fashion week here in Romania, and to do make up for the models. It was my first time to step in such a world. I had the chance to see what's going on backstage, to work with the models, and on top of that to practice, practice, practice. It was very hard work because we had to stand for almost 12 hours, with breaks obviously, but it was an amazing experience. I will share with you make up that I did and try to explain it a bit for you.
What I did mainly was smokey eyes. This is what the designers want for their presentations.I will make more posts with different make up looks from fashion week.

This is the first step of the make up, and the team didn't know how the make up was supposed to look like. After we did this make up on the models, they sent them back to make it more obvious.

Basically what we did, was to put red on the upper eyelid, over the green , and to blend it in.

The 70's make up

Hello everyone, good to be back again! Sorry for the one week absence:(
Today's post is gonna be about the 70's and this is gonna be the last decade that I am gonna talk about.
Well, the 70's is the last decade that really brings something new to the fashion; after this period of time designers sought inspiration in the past.
The 70's make up is all about the  eyes. Eyeshadows go from matte to pearl or bright goldens. Make up artists made a rule from drawing that banana arch on the upper eyelid over a bright eyeshadow. The eyelid was still contoured by the black or brown eyeliner. The lower eyelid was more or less coloured, just to create a shadow. They used to draw lashes on the lower eyelid because they still considered that a sign of supreme beauty. The brow bone had to be highlighted with a white or pearl eyeshadow.
Taking about lips, there is not much to say. The lips were much less pronounced comparing to the 50's for instance. The colours were nude: very light pinks, light salmon or just white pearl.
The eyebrows were much thicker, very thin or waxed off. Basically they could wear them as they pleased and still be fashionable.
With the 70's came the hippies and the wish to decorate the face with flowers ad other motifs.

These are the pictures found on the Internet

And here you have my own version

The 60's make up

Brigitte Bardot is the last great cinema diva wich launched  a trend with her own style: her disheveled hair and her big lips. She became famous during the 60's  when the television became popular and women started buying fashion magazines, learning about new muses, models and tv stars.
During this decade , women started using cosmetics. On tv they started to advertise "High Fi"-Max Factor and the "Cream Puff" , compact powder.
The lips were pastel, salmon or bright orange..
The eyes were still having the upward black line. The colours used for the eyes were white, blue, green. Those were cream eye shadows.
With very irregular shapes, the eyebrows were not waxed or unnaturally "raised"

This is my make up. I forgot to mention that on that decade, having very big eyelashes on the lower lid was a sign of extreme beauty.

The 50's make up

Yesterday I wrote a post about the make up they used to wear during the 40's. Today I am gonna write about the 50's . Actually, as soon as I have some time I will post the 20's and the 30's as well along with the contouring post that I promised to write.
First of all, thank you for you feedback, thanks for sharing yesterday's post.
So, the 50's...Audrey Hepburn was a fashion icon at that time, Marilyn Monroe as well. During the 50's they tend to draw an upward line on the upper lid, the lips had a more natural look, but the red colour was still the favorite of the time. The eyebrows were getting thicker comparing to the previous decades.
Marilyn Monroe was an exception to the upward liner. Her eyeliner was getting thicker to the middle of the upper lid and a bit descending at the outer corner of the lid.
The eye make up was accompanied by a few fake eyelashes applied on the outer corner of the eye.
Audrey Hepburn had very special eyebrows. The so called gull wing eyebrows were complementing her gazelle eyes. This way of describing her face became so famous and they are still used to describe the slender eyebrows, and the big shy eyes.

I also did this look on a second person. The eyeliner is the one that follows Marilyn Monroe's look.

You can see here the eyeliner. You can choose the look you prefer,or that one that suits you better.

Really hope you like this post.  Stay tuned for the next one:*!

The 40's make up

Today I'm gonna tell you about the 40's make up, I will post a picture of my make up along with one of that decade.
Basically this look is very simplified. For the upper lid one black line , more or less smudged. On the lower lid there is no make up, rarely a "touch of shadow". Going back to the upper lid, we must correct the shape by putting a brown eyeshadow into the crease. We want to create a deeper eye.
The fake eyelashes were very trendy those days, but they were only applied on the outer corner of the lid.
The eyebrows were very high and thin but thicker than they used to be in the 30's
The hair style was supposed to reveal the forehead, which had to be high. If the forehead was too small they waxed it until the desired shape.
The lips had a very unusual shape. It was the first time in the make up history when they lips were semicircles. As for the colour, the lips continued to be mainly red.

This one is the picture I found on the Internet. You can see clearly the shape of the eyebrows, the very simple eye make up and also the shape of the lips.
The forehead is also revealed as I mentioned.

I had to give the pictures a vintage effect , so that they look more from that decade. I hope you like it.

The make up I did was made at school, so I can not write the products that I have used because it is impossible to remember their names .I really hope you liked it, stay tunned for the next post! :*

night out look

Hello again, I am so excited to see how the number of views on my blog is going up.Yuppie :D!
Today I tough about contouring the face, I searched for my favorite contouring picture, but after I finished that part I started adding colour , so I decided that today's post will be another type of make up. I promise I will post the contouring as soon as possible.
So as I sad earlier, I started with a very contoured face, and I worked more on the eyes.

The first step is to contour the lid with a brown eyeliner, so that you can make the eye look bigger. My advice is to go with the pencil right under that bone (the eye arch). After that apply a darker eyeshadow. I used BUSTED from Naked II palette for that area.In the middle I've put HALF BAKED from the same palette and on the inner corner I've applied 128 from KIKO. On the arch The same 128.

This is the final result

I forgot to mention that I used the jumbo pencil from NYX -Milk on the eye rim, and some false eyelashes.
The blusher is actually a Shimmering Bronzing Powder medium shade from SEPHORA.

The lips were first covered with foundation and then contoured. The last step was applying a transparent lip gloss.

I really hoope you liked it, I am trying my best to inspire you girls.

A new look

I was looking for some inspiration today, for something very wasy to reproduce and I found a magazine with a make up that I liked and never did on my face. Because I have blue eyes , I always tried to stay away from blue eyeshadows and pencils. The result was ok.
I don't know if I mentioned, I do not consider myself an expert, I still have to do tons of work in order to call myself that way, but I am trying to discover new things, to approach new techniques, new colours.
I will post the pictures and write down the products that I used.

I tried to give volume to the center of the face and to the cheekbones by applying a highlighting powder (I will mention the brand in the list of products)

I contured the eyes with a blue eyeliner I applied it even on the eye rim, then smudged the lines and applied blue eyeshadow on top. On the lid I have put a jumbo pencil, white one and applied white eyeshadow over it.
On the outer corner of the eye I've put a shade of highlighter
